Artistic Maestro And Humble Persona
Born in Nagpur, Panditji took his first lessons in music from his father, Shri. N D Kashalkar, a musicologist and a lawyer by profession. He then trained under Rajabhau Kogje and P N Khardenvis in his university days, where he topped his post-graduate batch. Being heavily influenced by the Guru-Shishya tradition in Indian classical music, Pt. Kashalkar principally trained under the tutelage of Pt. Ram Marathe and Pt. Gajanan Bua Joshi. From these stalwarts, he imbibed the gayaki of three different gharanas, Jaipur, Agra and Gwalior. Panditji’s contribution towards nurturing the next generation of classical musicians is unparalleled. He was associated with the famed ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata for more than two decades, as a Senior Guru. This academy has produced countless musicians now making their mark in the field of classical music. Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar has been bestowed with various highly prestigious awards such as the Sangeet Natak Akademi award, Pt. Omkarnath Thakur award by Gujarat Sangeet Natak Academy, Rashtriya Tansen Puraskar by the Madhya Pradesh Govt, Vatsalabai Joshi award given by the Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav, and Padma Shri from the Govt. of India . He has been bestowed with several titles such as ‘Swar - Ratna, Raag Rishi and Gaan Tapasvi from Jagat Guru Shankaracharya.

Taalyogi Pt. Suresh Talwalkar

Born to an illustrious Kirtankar family, Pt. Sureshji Talwalkar had a liking for classical music right from his childhood. His father, Shri Dattatray Talwalkar initiated him into the art of “Tabla”. Sureshji took his lessons from the veteran gurus, Pt. Pandharinath Nageshkar and Pt. Vinayakrao Ghangrekar. He also learnt the intricacies of Carnatic Layashastra, from Pt. Ramnad Ishwaran. A firm believer of the Guru-Shishya Parampara, Panditji's Gurukul in Pune has produced hundreds of disciples who have made their mark on the highest of stages. An exponent of innovative yet traditionally rich Tabla, pioneering of inclusiveness in the presentation for of Tabla recital, Exponent of in-depth, rigorous yet subtle ways of Vocal Saath-sangat; any foundation laid by Panditji has become a benchmark for the future generations. A pioneer in the art of especially Vocal Saath-sangat, Panditji is looked upon as an authority on Indian Classical Music.
Shri. Nishad Bakre

Shri Nishad Bakre inherited the musical tradition from his grandfather Shri. Madhukar Panchikar. With initial lessons since the tender age of 6 years from his father Shri Sadashiv Bakre, Shri Nishad received rigorous training from Dr. Ram Deshpande for 13 years, through traditional Gurukul system. He was also trained by legends of Classical Music like Pt. Dinkar Kaikini, Pt. Madhukar Joshi and Padmashri Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar. He is known for his aesthetic presentation of Khayaal Gayaki. Shri Nishad has also taken up the tough task of evangelizing Classical Music. He is training numerous students in Hindustani Classical Music and working hard to pass on this rich heritage the next generation. Shri Nishad is not only the founder of Suranjan Trust, but he is the energy and inspiration for each of us at Suranjan Trust.

Smt. Pooja Bakre is one of prominent classical vocalist from the young generation. An avid student of the Jaipur Gharana, Smt.Pooja has learnt classical music from Shri Madhukar Joshi, Smt. Padmatai Talwalkar and Smt. Manjiri Asnare.
