Passion is Competition for Hindustani Classical Music organized by Suranjan. After an overwhelming response over last two years, Passion is here again, in 2020. This third edition of Passion is on a bigger scale, and on digital platform.
This is the first time that Hindustani Classical Vocal competition will be conducted 100% online. We hope this encourages the students of classical music across the globe to participate and get valuable exposure.
With the vision of spreading Hindustani Classical Music and imbibing its importance in the future of India, Suranjan Trust proudly presents the third iteration of the competition for students of Hindustani Classical Music, Passion 2020. WIth the advent of lockdown due to the outbreak of COVID-19, Passion 2020 will be held completely online, presenting a unique opportunity to both participants as well as organisers.
This competition is the first of its kind to be held on a digital platform, right from the preliminary round to the Final Round, making it very unique in nature.

The competition will take place in the following two rounds.
Preliminary Round
Once the registration form has been filled, Suranjan will send the Google Drive Link to the participants.
The participants are expected to record a video of their performance and upload it on this link.
The last date for submission of video entry is 17th May, 2020.
Final Round
Final Round will be held via Facebook Live, on Suranjan's Facebook page. The shortlisted participants from each group from the Preliminary Round will perform in the final round live.
The final round is scheduled for 29th, 30th and 31st of May,2020. Below is the schedule..
Competition Judges
Pt. Sudhir Nayak
Sudhir Nayak is the leading contemporary classical harmonium player. A disciple of Pandit Tulsidas Borkar.Pt. Sudhir Nayak has had the honor of having performed along with most of the legends of Hindustani classical music of our times. Sudhirji has been hailed as one of the most accomplished musicians in Hindustani Classical Music, with numerous concerts alongside the maestros of Classical Music to his credit. He was closely associated with Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki, whose music and versatility greatly inspired Sudhirji's journey as a musician.
Shri. Nishad Bakre
Shri Nishad Bakre inherited the musical tradition from his grandfather Shri. Madhukar Panchikar. With initial lessons from his father Shri Sadashiv Bakre, Shri Nishad received training from Dr. Ram Deshpande for 13 years, through the Gurukul system. He was also trained by legends such as Pt. Dinkar Kaikini, Pt. Madhukar Joshi and Padmashri Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar. He is one of the most prominent names from the contemporary classical vocalists. He is training numerous students in Hindustrani Classical Music in order to pass on this rich heritage the next generation.
Smt. Manjusha Patil
Smt. Manjusha Patil started her initial training under the guidance of Pt Chintubuva Mhaiskar, then going on learn under the tutelage of Pt. Kanebuva. Along with a Sangeet Visharad from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalay, she has a Master's Degree in Music with a Gold Medal to her credit from Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Smt. Manjusha Patil has carved a niche in the world of Classical Music with her mellifluous voice further enhanced by her aesthetic approach and creative thinking.
