Targetted at students of classical music and their parents, this workshop was conducted by Shri Nishad Bakre. It addressed some important questions relating to classical music. How to listen to Classical Music? What are various components of Classical Music? Role of pratents in their chirld;s music career. etc.
Shri Nishad Bakre inherited the musical tradition from his grandfather Shri. Madhukar Panchikar. With initial lessons since the tender age of 6 years from his father Shri Sadashiv Bakre, Shri Nishad received rigorous training from Dr. Ram Deshpande for 13 years, through traditional Gurukul system. He was also trained by legends of Classical Music like Pt. Dinkar Kaikini, Pt. Madhukar Joshi and Padmashri Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar.
Shri Nishad has dedicated his life to Classical Music. He is one of the most prominent names from the contemporary classical vocalists. He is known for his pure traditional rendering and aesthetic presentation of Khayaal Gayaki. Shri Nishad has also taken up the tough task of evangelizing Classical Music. He is training numerous students on Hindustrani Classical Music and working hard to pass on this rich heritage the next generation.
