Suranjan was conceived and founded by Shri Nishad Bakre, who is also the Chairman of Suranjan Trust. Shri Nishad is also joined by a team of trustees, equally passionate about Hindustani Classical Music.
Suranjan's team also consists of other senior students of Shri Nishad and volunteers who are driven by the urge to promote classical music.

Shri Nishad Bakre inherited the musical tradition from his grandfather Shri. Madhukar Panchikar. With initial lessons since the tender age of 6 years from his father Shri Sadashiv Bakre, Shri Nishad received rigorous training from Dr. Ram Deshpande for 13 years, through traditional Gurukul system. He was also trained by legends of Classical Music like Pt. Dinkar Kaikini, Pt. Madhukar Joshi and Padmashri Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar.
Shri Nishad has dedicated his life to Classical Music. He is one of the most prominent names from the contemporary classical vocalists. He is known for his pure traditional rendering and aesthetic presentation of Khayaal Gayaki. Shri Nishad has also taken up the tough task of evangelizing Classical Music. He is training numerous students on Hindustrani Classical Music and working hard to pass on this rich heritage the next generation.
Shri Nishad is not only the founder of Suranjan Trust, but he is the energy and inspiration for each of us at Suranjan Trust.
Sanjay Shetye

Born to the legacy of his father Shri Manohar Shetye, a renowned classical Vocalist from Agra Gharana, Shri Sanjay Shetye is passionate and keenly interested in Classical music and dedicated to serving the cause of spreading classical music to the younger generation. A retired Civil Engineer by profession, Shri Shetye is the recipient of Best Engineer award’ from Government of Maharashtra. He truly believes that age is no bar for learning music in life. Presently learning classical Music under the guidance of mentor and Guru Shri Nishad Bakre.
Rajesh Bhogale

Shri Rajesh is a postgraduate Civil Engineer by profession and is currently serving Government of Maharashtra in class-I gazetted post. Hindustani Classical Music has been an integral part of his life ever since he started learning music passionately under guru Shri Nishhadji Bakre. He is committed to serving the cause of preserving rich Indian heritage of classical music by spreading awareness about purity, beauty, and serenity of Hindustani classical music among them. Rajesh is also serving the society as a faculty of art of living founded by the renowned spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravishankarji
Ashish Nagpurkar

Shri Ashish comes from a musical family. He is a passionate and committed musician who started his journey as a keyboard student and later developed affection for Classical Music. He received talim in harmonium by the legend Pt. Tulshidas Borkar and is now learning from Pt. Sudhir Nayak. He is also receiving lessons in classical music from Shri Nishad Bakre. Ashish got associated with Suranjan for his dedication to classical music. He is active in all the initiatives of Suranjan Trust and you would often see him accompanying on Harmonium on the stage of Suranjan.
Ashish is a postgraduate engineer with executive MBA in HR and is currently heading HR for a manufacturing company.
Amol Mategaonkar

An Engineer and MBA by qualification, Shri Amol is an IT Professional and currently heads the India entity of a Multi-National IT Company. He comes from a family of Musicians who have dedicated their lives to Music. As a musician - a harmonium and keyboard player - his focus is on Light Music, he has a strong passion and keen interest for Hindustani Classical Music. He joined the Suranjan Family for his love and urge to promote and spread this rich tradition to the next generation. You can see him active in all activities of Suranjan, often backstage, right from sound, photography, videography, website, social media etc.
